A message from the Dean

Dean’s Welcome

For many people, the dog days of summer indicate a time of heat and lethargy. Well, we have the heat. But not much in the way of lethargy. After a wonderful graduation send-off to the class of ’26, your faculty and colleagues immediately began implementing several new initiatives, including rolling out digital dentistry across all four years of dental school. We have completed the renovation of the SimLab on the 3rd floor of the main campus, which provides an outstanding environment for preclinical digital education.

Keeping it personal

When Anthony Jaramillo was in third grade, he completed an assignment in which he interviewed his parents about their jobs and the work they did each day. His mother was a registered nurse, and his father was a general dentist. Through learning about their careers and the work they did each day, he was inspired by his father and began to think that he too wanted to become a dentist when he grew up.

ĢƵ met its accreditation standards as a merged university, completing the required process for institutional-level accreditation for a merger as affirmed by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

Next generation of oral health leaders graduate from ĢƵ School of Dentistry

ĢƵ School of Dentistry celebrated its newest graduates on May 18 during a commencement ceremony at St. Mary’s University, awarding 198 degrees to the next generation of oral health professionals. The graduating class included 170 Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees and 28 Bachelor of Science degrees in Dental Hygiene.
